The Return of Arcade Fire

Firstly, apologies for going AWOL on you for three weeks. It’s been busy here. Secondly, here are a few things that I’ve been enjoying recently:

+   The National’s glorious new album High Violet: if you only have a second make sure you download England, and get lost in it.

+   Nada Surf’s If I Had A Hi Fi: delivering a shot of life into a dying venture – the covers album. Download their brilliant indie-pop take on Depeche Mode’s Enjoy The Silence.

+   The National’s dazzling show at the Royal Albert Hall: a beautiful venue for a beautiful band. Great gallery here.

+   Broken Social Scene’s new record Forgiveness Rock Record: great comeback album, get World Sick.

+   Band of HorsesInfinite Arms: a terrific collection of woozy Americana.

But back to matters at hand, that being the long-awaited return of Arcade Fire. Zane Lowe gave their new single The Suburbs a spin earlier this evening, along with it’s b-side Month of May. Isn’t it good to have them back.

The track comes from their upcoming third album of the same name, which will be released on August 2nd.

Let me know what you think of these.
