Listen: The National – The Rains of Castamere

We got a lotta love for The National here. They’ve been a little quiet of late though. But now they are kind of back with an appearance on the soundtrack of Game of Thrones.

‘The Rains of Castamere’ starts with Matt Berninger’s deep rumble all alone before being joined by swelling horns and synths. No room for drums or guitar here folks.

Game Of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin wrote the lyrics himself, with Berninger adding his baritone vocal to it.
