We’ve got a lot of love for Paul Thomas Saunders here at WTGR. A few months back we interviewed him as part of our Introducing… series, in which we give you the best in new bands.
Speaking to him about his debut EP, Saunders explained how the new songs have moved on from his older material: “we were slightly more meticulous and relied a little less on intuition, which sounds far less romantic, but you have to approach things in ways that are novel to you, otherwise it can become quite dull in the studio. If nothing else, with Descartes Highlands I feel like everything is almost in it’s right place.”
One of the most beautiful songs on the EP, ‘The Trail Remains Unseen’ has been given the acoustic treatment.
Isn’t it utterly gorgeous?
