Wolf Alice’s new single ‘Fluffy’ is the type of grunge-pop slacker-rock that you’d bet your house on coming from somewhere west of the Atlantic. That they’re guzzling cheeseburgers in their press shot doesn’t exactly undermine the thought either.
However, this trio are straight outta London Town. And their racket it is rather brilliant.
The band themselves tell of their story: “Joff’s huge mancrush on Willy Mason had him and Ellie playing folk music out and about in North London. It was only when they met Joel, with his real ray bans and huge collars, that they decided to ditch the acoustic guitar and learn a thing or two about rock ‘n’ roll.”
We love them already. ‘Fluffy’ is out in early February on Chess Club Records.
