Last year saw Little Daylight take over the indie-remix scene with ease, as their imaginative edits of the likes of Edward Sharpe, Temper Trap, Passion Pit and a host of other artists found popularity through their infectious optimism and complex production.
Therefore it’s no surprise that their first official track as a “proper” band seems so developed and perfectly formed. “Overdose” is clever pop music at it’s finest, as throbbing synths and primal beats counteract melodic female vocals in an explosion of harmonious flamboyance. Some will notice their booming celebratory style bears resemblance to “sound of 2013” alumni CHVRCHES (who we wrote about here), a comparison which continues to indicate what the future may hold for indie pop.
2013 will no doubt be a big year for these guys, and like many others we eagerly await more material. Listen to the track below:
