We got a lot of love for London quintet Eliza and the Bear, ever since they stole our hearts with last year’s double A-side ‘Upon The North’ and ‘The Southern Wild’. Since then we’ve featured the group in our Introducing… column and chatted to them about their future plans, horns and, er, digustingly hairy boyfriends…
We’re therefore delighted to share ‘Friends’, their brand new single. With shimmering guitars, a chant-along chorus and more subtle use of horns, it is perhaps their most epic moment yet. Such is its emotional weight you could easily imagine it soundtracking the montage that will inevitably be put together when Andy Murray crashes out/wins Wimbledon.
When we caught up with the band previously, we asked them about their ability to push the button marked ‘EPIC’. Their response?
“That button is like that button in movies that says “DO NOT PRESS” but you do it anyway and it’s fun, so you do it again?”
Well. They’ve certainly done it again. Listen to ‘Friends’ below.
