We never usually post multiple tracks from the same artist in such a short period of time, but then again, Bel Heir aren’t your typical band.
When we listened to ‘The Game’ last week, we became instantly enamoured by the Philly four piece’s grandiose sound. Sitting somewhere in the middle ground between The 1975 and The Neighbourhood, we described it as “a cinematic mix of everything we’ve loved about music in 2013 so far”, whilst their name appealed to our inner nostalgic.
What also intrigued us about this quartet was the way they intend to release music, putting out two new tracks every month for a year, the second batch of which hit the web yesterday.
Taking a more balladic approach this time around, yet retaining the vast atmospheric foundations that attracted us to Bel Heir in the first place, ‘Throw Me In The River’ displays a more emotive and subdued side to the quartet, which is perhaps just what was needed as they continue to form their exciting identity.
Same time next month lads?
‘Throw Me In The River’ and B-side ‘Into Infinity’ are both available to buy on iTunes now, listen below.
