Track of the Day: Liza Anne // The Colder Months

Taken from Liza Anne’s forthcoming debut LP of the same name, ‘The Colder Months’ is a gently haunting tale of the heart’s struggle to commit.

The gentle female vocals from the young Nashville based singer songwriter float over a simple acoustic melody that brings to mind artists such as First Aid Kit or Sharron Van Etten in one of her more mellow moments. The refrain of ‘I don’t know if I’m ready yet’ is sung with a beautiful emotional intensity that leaves us in no doubt of the singer’s state of mind – clear in its confusion and yet muddled in its desire.

‘The Colder Months’ is a perfect accompaniment to the failed New Year’s resolutions and solitary nights in that January brings, ideally listened to while walking alone across a Nordic landscape, hands thrust broodingly into the pockets of a fur lined parka.

Liza Anne releases her debut album ‘Colder Months’ on 4th February. Listen to the gorgeous title track below.
