ABOUT

Going live in November 2009 and growing by the month, When The Gramophone Rings offers you the latest music news, reviews, mp3′s, streams, videos and opinion pieces. The aim is to point the average Joe in the direction of some decent tunes. The target audience is, well, you.

We try and stay positive when we can. We love music and therefore think a lot of it is really good. Some not so much, so we’ll call a spade a spade every now and then too.

The goal has always been to stay clear of music snobbery. You know, the elitist “it’s popular and therefore must be rubbish” school of thought. No band is off limits. No group considered too uncool. If it’s good it will be writen about it. If it’s awful, it may just be written about also.

When The Gramophone Rings currently consists of four writers – Andrew Evans (Editor), Catherine Hawkes, Neil Riddell and Mark Kovac – but is always on the look out for exciting new talent, so if you’re interested do get in touch.
